Natural Oak individual Cabinets for TV and Storage Wednesday, Jul 25 2018

Mandy and Malcolm of Staplehurst wanted bespoke cabinets made for their sitting room. These would house the TV and related hardware, DVDs and a display cabinet for  their china.

The units were made as separate items so the configuration could be changed if they wish .They were constructed in European oak, 6 and 19mm oak veneered board with the glazed doors in a smoked grey. The doors and drawers have half astragal mouldings with the top and base mouldings being a particular challenge going into the 45* corner unit. The shelves are adjustable below the Tv with plenty of access for wiring, in and behind the cupboard.

We had trouble locating suitable drawer knobs the style and dimensions weren’t quite right so I had a local turner help out.

The clients collected the pieces and I was told it fitted perfectly!

Television Cabinet Given A New Lease Of Life. Friday, Jun 10 2011

Mrs C from Sevenoaks had a dining suite including a TV cabinet in a dark elm finish. The unit had been put to one side and wasn’t being used. As with many pieces of furniture, styles can change or indeed electrical equipment can and will therefore, no longer fit. So rather than discarding perfectly serviceable pieces, why not recycle?

As you know its going to match your existing furniture it may well be worth considering !

Clients from Sevenoaks had a huge wall with a window in the middle, which lent itself beautifully for a series of fully adjustable, fully fitted book shelves and

perfectly sited in between the two, a window seat with storage under. The Georgian architecture of the property was picked up in the mouldings and turned roundel details at the top of the units.The base set of units were 450mm (18″) deep and the top shelf units were set back to 300mm (12″).

This initial piece of furniture was commissioned back in 2005, recently we were called back for some more book shelving and these were the resulting pieces!

Custom Handmade Solid Oak TV Unit Tuesday, Oct 19 2010

This TV cabinet was commisioned by Mr and Mrs K of Frittenden together with a free standing book shelf. The pieces were constructed from European oak and polished to a light oak finish with the design and detailling to their specification.

Bespoke TV cabinet

This piece was designed around the size of  TV and the electrical boxes to be contained underneath. The television is supported on an adjustable frame allowing it to be pulled out for viewing around the room. In the cupboard section under the electrics are plugged into a purpose built bank of sockets. The bi-fold doors are hung on brass hinges allowing them to sit flat to the sides of the unit, the fronts of which have lattice centre panels.

Painted TV cabinet with natural oak top

This piece was constructed from 25mm board for the carcase, Tulipwood / Poplar for the door frames and a 30mm European oak top. The  door frames were  assembled with mortice and tenon joints with  flat panel inserts and hung on Blum style hinges. Inside there are two adjustable shelves with plenty of room for electronic kit and storage, consideration was given to wiring and socket holes before hand. The unit was spray painted in the clients choice of paint colour and natural oak polished top.

Painted TV Cabinet

This TV cabinet was made to match a set of bookcases made by The Sussex Bookcase Company in 2006. It has identical detailing. It has storage space for a DVD player and hi-fi system as well as storage above for CDs and DVDs. The door panels are made of mesh.

Mr S from Headcorn specified the size required for the space for the television and other equipment. The cabinet was custom designed to fit his entertainment centre while also meeting Mrs S’s requirements in the way of style and design.
